BEACHES:





— Honeymoon Island:  The closest beach to our condo, just a few minutes away.
A quick drive over the Dunedin Causeway Blvd. brings visitors to the beautiful beaches and waters of this Florida State Park, offering a more laid-back atmosphere, than other busier beaches.  A ferry shuttles beachgoers to nearby Caladesi Island, voted America’s Best Beach in 2008 by Dr. Beach. You can enjoy canoeing, kayaking, boating, surfing, and fishing with friends! (Canoes, kayaks, jet-skis, etc., all available for rent, nearby)

— Caladesi Island:   (accessible by boat near Honeymoon Island).  As one of the few completely natural islands along Florida´s Gulf Coast, Caladesi´s white sand beaches were rated America’s Best Beach in 2008. Beach lovers can enjoy swimming, sunbathing and beachcombing. Saltwater anglers can cast a line from their boats or surf fish. Nature enthusiasts can spot wildlife while hiking the three-mile nature trail through the island´s interior or paddling a three-mile kayak trail through the mangroves and bay. The Island is accessible by boat, or canoe (Renting available from Honeymoon Island).  (Ferry is provided by the Caladesi Island Ferry (727) 734-1501.

— Clearwater Beach:   An approx. short and scenic 15-20 minute coastal drive (just south of Dunedin) is famous Clearwater Beach!  Clearwater is the home of pristine white sand beaches, clear gulf waters, warm sunshine, and plenty of hospitality!  Lots of lively, bustling activity for families, vacationers and friends, both days and evenings near the beach.  Enjoy the nightly sunsets at Pier 60 festival where music, magic and fun create lasting memories. There is always something special going on at Clearwater Beach. Take one of the many boat cruises around the waters, or enjoy one of the many family restaurants, after a great day in the sun!

— Highlander Park:  —1920 Pinehurst Road.   approx. 4 mins. from our condo.
Highlander Park with approximately 70 acres, is the City’s second largest park. It is a multi-use recreation area which features the Dunedin Community Center, the Fine Art Center, an over-the-lake Pavilion, Highlander Pool (seasonal times), the Dunedin Nature Center, picnic tables, basketball courts, tennis courts, softball and little league fields and more… There are three playgrounds available for the little kids!

— Hammock Park:   – 1900 San Mateo Drive.  approx. 4 mins. from our condo.
The Hammock is a unique 90-acre natural park inhabited by various forms of wildlife and plant life. It has five miles of nature trails, three picnic shelters, an observation platform, rest rooms and a playground area. Open every day from sunrise to sunset. Many birds can be seen at Hammock Park and the park is listed in the “Great Florida Birding Trail Book.” A favorite attraction at Hammock Park is a lovely butterfly garden—an ideal spot to watch natural beauty take flight!

—  WEAVER Park (with its own fishing pier!):   approx. 5 mins. from our condo.
A beautiful and quaint, waterfront park with its own fishing pier. Enjoy fishing off the pier, or try to spot a manatee or other local fish in the water as you bask in the warm afternoon sun.

DOWNTOWN DUNEDIN:  Broadway and Main St., Dunedin    approx. 8 mins. from our condo.
With more than 100 privately owned shops, restaurants, bars and pubs, boutiques, art galleries, antiques stores, and more, our quaint city of 35,000 has the charm of a small town and the amenities of our larger city neighbors. Our marina is also within easy walking distance of downtown, which hosts numerous arts and crafts festivals, parades, concerts, farmers markets, and other events every year.
Dunedin’s nationally recognized beaches are just a short drive from downtown — or if you’re feeling athletic, you can walk, run, bicycle, or skate up the Pinellas Trail to the beaches. The 14-mile Pinellas Trail also runs right through downtown Dunedin!

TRANSPORTATION:
Normal transportation is by car, although you can also jump on the Jolley Trolley for a nice “alternative” for your transportation needs from Clearwater Beach to Dunedin and, all the way up to, Tarpon Springs.

— Toronto Blue Jays (MLB -Baseball): – Florida Auto Exchange Stadium. approx.  8-10 mins. from our condo.
Located at: 373 Douglas Avenue, Dunedin.  Florida Auto Exchange Stadium is nestled among small businesses and homes just a few blocks from downtown Dunedin and home of the Toronto Blue Jays “Spring Training.”

— Philadelphia Phillies (MLB -Baseball): – Bright House Field. approx. 15 mins. from our condo.
Located at: 601 Old Coachman Road, Clearwater, FL.  Bright House Field is the home for the Phillies’ Spring Training games. The ballpark is located on the west side of U.S. Highway 19, adjacent to Carpenter Field.

— Tampa Bay Lightning (NHL -Hockey): – Tampa Bay Times Forum.  approx. 35 mins. from our condo.

— Tampa Bay Buccaneers (NFL -Football):  –Raymond James Stadium.  approx. 35 mins. from our condo.
Located at: North Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa, FL. The stadium seats 65,908, and it is expandable to 75,000 for special events. The stadium also hosts the annual Outback Bowl on New Year’s Day, the annual pinnacle of USA equestrian showjumping.

Located on the waterfront at Johns Pass, this quaint turn-of-the-century fishing village is one of Pinellas County’s top tourist attractions. Over one hundred merchants inhabit the Village with unique retail shopping, a variety of restaurants, the local fishing fleet, dolphin watching and shelling tours, boat rentals, parasailing and jet skiing.
